Externship Opportunities

Externship is the final step in training provided in the Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Health Insurance Claims Examiner/Medical Biller, Advanced Medical Coder/Biller programs.

Externships consist of training related experience in the field-related settings such as hospitals, clinics, doctors' offices, insurance companies and business offices. The externship provides students with the opportunity to apply all of their training and skills in the actual work arena.

Externships are also offered in our business programs.

As Career Training Academy has formed a "Training Partnership" with Children's Community Pediatrics, a subsidiary of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, students in the Medical Assistant Comprehensive and Advanced Medical Coder/Biller program may complete externships at any of the Children's Community Pediatrics offices in Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
